MICON VIEW is our latest generation Operator Display / Engineering Station development and display environment for Windows Operating Systems. VIEW includes everything typically associated with DCS operator stations including full featured alarming (time stamped at controller) and historian.
MICON VIEW is highly scaleable; all development is done in either XP or VISTA, and operator displays may be shown on these as well as CE panels.
MICON VIEW is designed for integration with systems from other manufacturers; we support industry standard communications networks including Ethernet, OPC, Allen-Bradley Control Net, Modicon Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus Serial, Modbus Plus, Siemens Profi-bus, and many others.
MICON VIEW includes multi-language support through the use of Unicode; this allows the engineer to handle multiple languages in parallel, switch languages online, and define them easily in the Editor. You immediately see the results.
MICON VIEW graphical development environment is two-fold: First, MICON Wizards can read the configurations in your controllers and Automatically generate all variables, loop faceplates, alarms, and trend displays (everything you need to get up and running) in seconds...this insures consistent naming and graphical conventions, every time. Additionally, our Wizard feature is very flexible, allowing the Wizard templates to be modified so you pick the colors, sizes, features you want MICON Wizards to use when auto-generating your displays. Second, VIEW allows you to create free form animated graphics and displays specific to your application. MICON VIEW offers a multitude of symbols for a diverse range of implementations. The bandwidth ranges from motors, pumps, conveyors and pipes to sensors/actuators and standardized IEC symbols. These symbols may be adapted and saved, or new symbols created. When symbols are referenced in a display; the symbol not only exists in the picture, but also stays linked with the corresponding library symbol. If the symbol is later changed in the central library, the change also affects all picture symbols that refer to it.
MICON VIEW provides a sophisticated export – import mechanism through XML format. Because the format is disclosed, it is possible not only to reuse functions in other projects, but also to externally process with other products. This way entire project parts can be created outside the MICON VIEW Editor with a CAD or with a CAE system. With distributed engineering, projects in MICON VIEW can be stored in a central database system and then simultaneously processed from various workspaces. This way a team of development engineers can ideally distribute the tasks of a project. While one engineer is still dealing with the variable definition, the second team member is already drafting process pictures, and another colleague is working on the function definitions.
